The import of Turkish stainless steel coil still kept robust about 41,700 tons in September. According to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data, it was only 200 tons less than the imports in August.
The lower price coils from East Asian countries are the main stream. Taiwan exported 7,584 tons to Turkey in Sep. South Korea reached 7,918 tons which already signed the free trade agreement with Turkey Early this year.
The free trade agreement had started to force from May 1. Turkey increased the import duty on stainless cold rolled coil by 8%, hence, East Asian countries like Taiwan and China are in the list but EU countries and South Korea are excluded.
Also, Finland exported 5,585 tons to Turkey in September, and China exported 4,300 tons.
