Chinese ferroalloy participants began to back to market after the holiday break, however, the lowest level on silicon manganese purchase for Hebei Iron and Steel Group during February since 2010 further dampened silicon manganese worse situation. Currently, large scale silicon manganese factories are still struggling to maintain production, while for those medium and small companies, parts of them attempted to edge down quotation slightly to stimulate transaction.
Since downtrend for silicon manganese already settled, lowering enquires led silicon manganese producers in north to hold cautious attitudes on whether or not remain normal operation. In south, it seems that most suppliers still tend to suspend production given continued poor performance.
In general, flat demand may further push silicon manganese down in the near future.
