At 8:02 20th, April, there was a 7.0 earthquake in Sichuan Ya’an city, which caused great losses for local people and around. Sichuan province was one of the major Si producing areas in China. Therefore, it’s the key whether the earthquake would have impact on local Si industry or not.
It’s hard to communicate with local Si producers due to the damage of electricity and communicating facilities. According to one producer, the earthquake hardly had influence on Si enterprises in Aba area. At the same time, there were few Si furnaces in Ya’an area which always worked in wet season. The earthquake is in dry season now and it may have less impact on Si industry in Sichuan province.
