The price of calcium carbide kept temporarily stable lacking of strong upward momentum. Besides, there were still effects on the production and shipment of calcium carbide from the rainfall. The calcium carbide supply did not still slightly meet the demand of the whole market.
So far the operation of big furnaces was still not stable and the supply was a little tight in Inner Mongolia. The mainstream quotation was RMB2750-2800/mt (USD450-459/mt, EX-WORK, VAT). In Gansu province the price was RMB 2800-2850/mt (USD459-468/mt, EX-WORK,VAT). There was not lower price in the local place. In Henan province, the price temporarily kept at RMB3050-3100/mt (USD500-508/mt, EX-WORK, VAT).
As there were different electricity price preferential policies in different areas, many factories still undertook the stress of high cost and had the will to raise the price. However, the market lacked of strong driving force to enhance the price. It is expected that the whole market will kept the stable trend and the lower price may rise in recent time.
