According to the latest data of he General Administration of Customs, China imported 157171 mt of ferroalloys and exported 92864 mt in October 2013, so net import was as much as 64307 mt. In Jau.-Oct. 2013, China imported 1674016 mt of ferroalloys and exported1003604 mt in all. Net import was as much as 670402 mt. (Note: silicon metal included, manganese metal not included)

Stainless steel industry of China began to rebound in the second half of 2013. FeCr was the major ferroalloy material and its import amount stayed high.

Since the beginning of 2013, China exported about 90,000 mt of ferroalloys every month, silicon metal included. On January 1st, export tariff of silicon metal was canceled and its import volume started to surge. Monthly import was as much as 60,000 mt. Therefore, monthly import of net ferroalloys （HS code72021100~72029999）was just 30,000 mt. In Jau.-Oct. 2013, China exported 570,000 mt of silicon metal and net ferroalloys was just about 500,000 mt. If silicon metal was excluded, net import of net ferroalloys was more than 1 million mt in the first ten months.
