For several reasons, we’ve seen people complain about the unavailability of Doordash on Starbucks and how it fluctuates most of the time. Now, why does this happen And what can you do about it?

Here’s a well-detailed article where we asked Doordash about the situation and got a response. Positive or negative? That’s for you to find out.

Is Starbucks on Doordash?

Overview:

From our research with a Doordash agent, it seems they no longer partner with Starbucks, hence the reason you may have been facing the issue

Update February 2023:

Doordash officially partners with Starbucks. If you still can’t find Starbucks, it should be an account issue. Read on to the second subheading to find out tips to help you sort yourself out.

Going through Doordash’s Web page, you’ll find out, Doordash openly states that it partners with Starbucks to bring customer deliveries to their doorstep.

In fact, Doordash has a dedicated page on its website for Starbucks:

To know what went wrong with the multiple complaints we got so far, we had to contact both Starbucks and Doordash.

Before that, we had already made on ground research on the issue. And the collective answer we got was; “Doordash has discontinued its service with Starbucks.”

Here’s one complaint on Reddit:

complaints on why isn't starbucks on doordash

And the answer;

a response to why is starbucks not on doordash

But could this be any true?

To confirm this, we went on to contact Starbucks and Doordash.

For Starbucks, we contacted them through their Facebook page.

message we sent to starbucks telling them why starbuck is not on doordash

We went straight to ask them why they’re no longer on Starbucks and if they’ve discontinued their partnership. Fortunately, we were able to get a response in a short interval of time;

starbucks reply on why they're not on doordash

While the Starbucks customer agent didn’t go straight to answer the question, it made mention that they still partner with Uber Eats, Postmates and Doordash for delivery.

This is actually not enough information, hence, we decided to contact Doordash.

We did this, through their Live support on their website:

messaage contacting doordash on why starbuck is not showing on their app

We went with the same template as was used in the Starbuck research. And we got a response almost instantly.

Doordash no longer partners with Starbucks, doordash customer agent replies

From this, we could say that…Starbucks is no longer on Doordash.

But that’s not the entirety.

The partnership between Doordash and Starbucks still remains intact. In fact, if you can’t find Starbucks on your Doordash account, it typically means there’s something wrong somewhere.

Also, have similar complaints about other stores like Chick fil a and MC Donalds? You can read our research on those as well.

Why isn’t Starbucks on Doordash?

As we said earlier, the generic answer to the question would be  “it’s an account issue.” But then, let’s try to expatiate:

Your Location

A lot could happen in a particular location that could result in you not being able to order Starbucks from Doordash.

Below are some of these:

  1. There’s a big decline in drivers to pick Starbucks orders: Even before the debate on whether Starbucks is on Doordash or not, many Dashers have always had a bad time with taking Starbucks ordersstarbucks don't find it easy going with food deliveries
  2. There are few to no Starbucks around your area: Logically, the fewer the stores the higher the demand. Only a few dashers would be willing to spend time in the queue for a single order. Also, if a report reaches Doordash that there is a high delay in picking orders, they could temporarily pause the merchant’s account.
  3. Starbucks was never close by: Maybe it’s your first time trying Doordash, and you wanted to order from Starbucks; it could just be there has never been Starbucks in your location and you don’t know about it.

You’re restricted from ordering

As a customer, you could be restricted from making orders. In fact, you could even get completely banned. Yeah, it happens.

An event that could lead to this would be when your account is deactivated due to a policy violation or when a store bans your account.

The latter is more serious as you would be able to use your account properly, but won’t be able to order from a particular store, in this case, Starbucks.

Starbucks Temporarily Paused their account

Who knows, it could just be a few minutes’ pause, and you already getting paranoid. It’d better you wait or go order something else in the meantime, and come back later.

But then, why would waiting make a difference?

Well, Doordash offers merchants the ability to temporarily pause their accounts when they wish to.

Some reasons a merchant like Starbucks would want to do this would be in a situation where they have an unusual flock of customers, they went out of stock, or they’re closed for the day.

It’s also worth mentioning that Doordash could also take the action to temporarily deactivate a store themselves.

What to do as Starbucks is not on Doordash

You might still want to get your coffee delivered, knowing fully well Doordash no longer works. How can you do this?

Below is a list of what you can do if Starbucks is not on Doordash:

  1. Use other Starbucks delivery partners
  2. Get delivery yourself

Use other Starbucks delivery partners

Alongside Doordash, Starbucks partners with several other food delivery services. This could be useful since you’re unable to use Doordash at the moment.

Some of these partners include Postmates and Ubereats.

Get delivery yourself

According to Wikipedia, Starbucks has a total of 33,833 stores across 80 countries, of which 15,444 are located in the United States.

This simply means that at least one Starbucks store is just a few metres away from you if you stay in an Urban area.

You can just quit the stress of food delivery platforms, by taking the order yourself.

At least, you can be sure of;

  1. Getting what you want
  2. Having an updated list of menus
  3. Eating a warm/undamaged food

Final Thoughts

Starbucks is still on Doordash as of 2023. If you have a problem or can’t find them on your account, it’s most likely an account-based issue, which could be expanded to these:

  1. Your Location
  2. You’re restricted from ordering
  3. Starbucks Temporarily Paused their account
